Use conditions and operation methods of flame retardant additives

Jul 12, 2019

The flame retardant additive is added to the polymer by mechanical mixing method to make the polymer flame retardant. Currently, the added flame retardant mainly has an organic flame retardant and an inorganic flame retardant, and a halogen flame retardant (organic chloride) And organic bromide) and non-halogen. Organic is a flame retardant represented by bromine, phosphorus and nitrogen, nitrogen and red phosphorus and compounds. The inorganic is mainly flame retardant systems such as antimony trioxide, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide and silicon.

The reactive flame retardant participates in the polymerization reaction as a monomer, so that the polymer itself contains a flame retardant component, which has the advantages of less influence on the performance of the polymer material and long-lasting flame retardancy.

In order to increase the flame resistance of polymer materials, it is mainly used for polymer materials such as plastics, rubber, fibers, etc., and most of these materials are combustible. In particular, plastics must be applied to transportation, construction, electrical equipment, aviation, space flight, etc., and it is urgent to solve their combustion resistance problems.

The use of flame retardant additives should generally have the following conditions

1. Does not reduce the physical properties of polymer materials, such as heat resistance, mechanical strength, electrical properties.

2. The decomposition temperature should not be too high, but it cannot be decomposed at the processing temperature.

3. Good durability and good weather resistance.

4. Cheap.
