As a common chemical reagent, pyrithione salt is widely used in coatings, adhesives, antimicrobials and shampoos because of its good antibacterial properties. In order to improve the production efficiency of pyridinethione salt and the quality of its products, a method for continuously controlling small particle size pyrithione salt particles has been introduced.
In operation, the water-soluble salt of the pyrithione or pyrithione and the polyvalent metal salt solution are respectively input from the respective feed pumps into the microreactor connected to the pump, both in the microchannel reactor. The molar ratio is 0.1-10:1, and the reaction temperature is controlled to be 0-100 °C.
After the pyrithione or water-soluble pyrithione salt and the polyvalent metal salt are mixed in the mixing channel of the microreactor, a chemical precipitation reaction is carried out to obtain a polyvalent metal salt mixture of pyrithione. Finally, the above mixture is separated, washed and dried to obtain polyvalent metal salt particles of pyrithione.
The polyvalent metal salt of pyrithione having a controlled particle size and narrow particle size distribution can be obtained by the method, and is continuously operated.
